5 out of 5 stars Excellent!   July 7, 2006

After a few days searching for the best in-ear headphones, Some being too uncomfortable, not having enough bass or losing too much quality in the sound, I came across these headphones, I've been wearing them all day and I have to say, these headphones are brilliant! The eaurbuds are extremely confomfortable, the headphones are extremely light, and they do what they say on the box, blocks 90% of external noise! I walked through town and didnt hear any of the traffic or people talking, it was great! just me and my music.

The sound quality is amazing too, whatever the new technology that they have in these seems to do the trick, the bass is just right, the vocals are crisp, and you can hear every single instrument in crystal clear quality, and you don't need the volume up to the top to enjoy it! I use a creative zen touch, and I don't need the volume all the way up to 20 to hear it, I just leave it at 13/15 and it drowns all external noise, and gives me the same quality!

They look great too, Getting rid of the generic white that every product seems to be dragging around, making it unique for once! I'd reccomend these for any cd players, minidisk player and mp3 players! don't miss out! you're paying for quality!

4 out of 5 stars Great Cans!   May 29, 2007

I received these earphones as a birthday present, after dropping hints for some in ear noise cancellers for a couple of months. My wife bought these going on reviews from Amazon, so thanks to all. I have to say that coming from supplied Apple iPod phones it was a revelation. I can now hear my music as it is meant to be heard, with what seems like a good range of frequencies. The noise cancellation works really well. I work in a fairly loud environment and these phones do the trick. They are really comfortable to wear, once you have the correct size buds on them. An added bonus of these earphones is the fact that I no longer need to have the volume on my iPod turned up to almost full blast to hear properly. Consequently my battery lasts a lot longer. (Environmentally friendly too!) So after such a rave review, why only four stars? The only negative side to these is that you get some noise transference through the cables. This is not to say that there is a wiring fault simply that as the cables rub on your clothes the vibration is transferred through the casing of the buds and is audible. However I know that this is a particular floor in most makes of these types of headphone, and it is only noticeable when the music is very, very quiet.

I ordered these yesterday, they arrived today and the quality is excellent. The sound no longer requires turning up until your ears explode just to drown out the surrounding noise and the clarity is amazing.

5 out of 5 stars Brilliant But Blited   July 14, 2008

I completely agree with all of the previous reviewers; the sound quality is top of the range, yet be prepared only to experience this for less than a year.

I've owned a range of in-ear headphones over the years, everything from the basic - and terrible - ipod in-ear, to sony's mid range and the shure ec2's. Out of all of these Creative's were the best for overall sound quality, and by some margin! The Shure's gave the "purest" sound in the mid to high range, however, for base they're hopeless, giving far too much emphasis upon the high end tones. The apple and sony lacked any depth to their sound, although they had the opposite problem to the Shures' of too much base. Creative have managed to get this balance just right, according to my ear. There's a great depth and warmth, showing a mastery of the mid to high range, with base that simply adds to anything you're listing to, rather than you craving more (the Shures') or distracting you from the song itself (apple and sony). All things being equal, I would recommend these headphones on sound quality with no hesitation, whatever the budget!

But alas, the build quality is in opposition. After about 10months I experienced exactly the same "crackling" problems as the majority of the other reviewers and am writing this review as I'm in search for a new set. It's incredibly frustrating as Creative clearly have gone to great length to produce such great sound, yet seem to have forgotten to invest in durability...so close, yet so far Creative!

However, the reason why I'm able to talk with experience, having consumed a good number of in-ear headphones, is because all of them have lasted for about 10-12months! I've always taken care. Increasingly so with each successive "replacement". Yet they've always had a similar limited shelf life. And, interestingly enough, with every single pair, the problem has always focused upon the connection with the jack - as other reviewers have mentioned. So, it could well be the case that this (10-12months) is a "normal" life expectancy for a frequently used in-ear headphone, regardless of make and price range!

So, to conclude, assuming that most in-ear headphones only last for about 1 year, then these Creative headphones are indeed a very very good pair to consider, offering a market leading balance of sound for the price range.

There is nothing better to say about these phones other than they are simply amazing.
I bought them to replace the iPod headphones(which in themselves are very good)These leave all others ive tried for dead. They seal out external sounds very effectively(when listening on the tube in a tunnel)which is a bit unusual at first, but once you are used to it is a real benefit.
It takes a bit of experimentation to find the right size ear pads (3 different sizes)but once got they are comfortable.
Their sound is :- warm, musical and all subtle details in the music are conveyed with prescision and verve.
They are expensive to buy, but the sound rewards outway the cost in my opinion.
